Every year for the Fourth of July we go to Delta. They have a parade in the morning and to start off the parade they always have a group of jets do a fly by. Ethan was so excited that he could actually see the jets because they fly low over the parade route. At our house we always hear a lot of jets (from Nellis Air Force Base in Vegas) fly by but they are always too high for us to see them. He was jumping up and down and pointing them out to me just in case I had missed them. There is also a big gas tanker plane that flies behind them because I guess they do it all over the state during the holiday. I think Ethan might have liked the huge plane even better than the jets.
This is Jake and baby Jackson, Hayden (Jake’s littlest cousin), Brett and baby Quinton, and Ethan waiting for the parade and jets. Ethan is definitely not a morning person (probably because I’m not either) so he was a little grumpy until things got started.
This is all the cousins after the parade in their matching shirts. As you can see from the full sack Hayden has, we got tons of candy. I guess when you have a bunch of cute little kids you tend to get lots of candy!
Aren’t we so patriotic in our red, white, and blue shirts!
After the derby we went back to Jake’s parents house to watch the city fireworks and do some of our own. It was Ethan’s first time doing sparklers and of course he was a little nervous (and so were we). After the first one he must’ve decided it was cool because he wanted to do more but he never moved his arm and just held it straight out in front of him the entire time.
He did seem a little confused about where the sparkles went after it was all burned out!
