Since Jake is a teacher he usually gets an entire week off for spring break. Most years we have taken the whole week to visit family (half with mine, half with his). This year, since we are right in the middle of building the house we decided we didn’t get to take an entire week off and worked on the house instead. Luckily my sister Emily decided she wanted to spend her spring break with us too! It was nice to have her here because then she can help take care of Ethan so I can help out more on the house. She also became very adept at sheetrock screwing in. Jake’s dad also took a couple days off work and came down to help out. He does a great job with the mudding and taping which is good, since I would have no idea what to do. Here are some pictures from that week.
This is our entry way looking out from the balcony at the top of the stairs
This is the entry way looking up from the front door. It is about twenty or so feet high so it hasn’t been easy to finish.
Once you walk through our entry area it opens into our living room/kitchen area and the hallway leading to the Ethan’s room, a bathroom, and the master suite.
This is the living room taken from the kitchen with our gas fireplace on the right side.
And this is the Kitchen/Dining room taken from the living room. There will be an island and a bar area in the kitchen so it isn’t actually just one big open space.
Just thought I’d throw this picture on here. This is Ethan riding his bike around the master bedroom since it was too windy that day to play outside. Emily is watching him to make sure he doesn’t put big dents in the walls because he loves to crash!
